Anyone who’s tried to watch Shane Carruth’s indie sci-fi thriller Primer (made for only $7000) probably had to do a lot of head scratching to figure it out. Me? I flat out couldn’t follow it. The plot is too complex, the acting is too monotone for me to pay full attention and the time travel concept behind it is too cerebral even for me. It made me feel so thick-headed that I got frustrated with it and put it out of my mind. Fast forward to today…

Some dude named Joe Nicolosi apparently asked an air-headed friend (girlfriend, maybe) Amanda to explain the original “Star Wars” trilogy even though she has NEVER SEEN any of the films. Correction: She’s seen bits and pieces and knows the characters’ names, but Joe tapes the entire explanation and adds animation for comedic effect. The result: A hilarious work of genius…

Apparently Werner Herzog had a brain aneurism and in his limited faculties suddenly thought remaking this film starring an increasingly looney Nic Cage and setting it in New Orleans to make use of southern stereotypes was a fantastic idea. While it sounded goofy to me, nothing prepared me for the hilarious awfulness that awaited me when I saw this first promo trailer…
