I also knew this was coming, and didn’t like it…then I turned the tv on this weekend & saw it…I’m now repulsed by it! It’s not hip…it’s just lame. F’n geniuses?…my @$$!

When I saw the adds letting viewers know the change was coming, I honestly thought they were branching off and creating a kids Sci-fi channel. I thought that was a fabulous idea! When I realized the new name was for the same channel, I was insulted. I fit in that demographic of female & 13-50 and if I’m gonna watch Sci-fi, I wanna watch Sci-fi darn it. I don’t want to like a network that can’t abbreviate the English language correctly. If I wanted to watch something that was contributing to the dumbing down of society I’d watch Hannah Montana or iCarly.

Hmmm, I didn’t know I felt so passionately about the name of a television channel… I think I’m going to go stop world hunger now:)

I have heard it said that the decision to change was based on the fact that they couldn’t trademark the term “sci-fi”. Regardless, everything you said is true.

It’s just stupid. It won’t gain them anything and will lose some ability to attract the core audience. A change to something completely different would have made more sense.
