COOP COOPER is an independently syndicated film critic with a split personality. His "Southern Side" prints mainstream reviews that appear in various print publications across the mid-south. His "Dark Side" from Los Angeles befouls the site with reviews of horror and grindhouse flicks. Welcome to the site where COOP's two halves (and his contributors) review and debate the latest film/DVD releases...

Have you looked at "Nang Naak" yet?

I'll send you a picture of the real "Grudge" that I know. What e-mail address should I send it to?

Have seen Ju-on (thought it was ok)...will definitely put the other two on 'the list'! I own the Ringu collection & Shutter (if you haven't seen the latter, you've GOT to!). I've seen The Eye, Dark Water, Suicide Club, Pulse...the first two are good, the latter two...not as much. I've got Tale of Two Sisters downloaded, which is supposed to be pretty cool...just gotta sit down & watch the freakin' thing! I've heard Audition was good, but haven't seen it yet (also on the list). I'm sure I'm leaving something out...this freakin' list could go on and on and on...can't get enough of 'em!

Hey Trace, put these on your watch list:

1. 13: Game of Death 2. Ju-on (original Japanese version of "The Grudge") 3. Reincarnation

... and smoke 'em!

They are all Asian horror must-sees. I know there are more awesome ones but that's the best I can think of right now.

Ok, I wanna see both of these now!! Ever since I saw Ringu & Shutter (which are still two of my favorites), I've been addicted to these Asian ghost stories. Looks like they're getting a little bloodier, which I can handle to a point...but the psychological effect is what I really enjoy. Hollywood makes NOTHING like them!
