OH NO YOU DIDN’T #3: Someone who has never seen a STAR WARS movie tries to explain it! by COOP **UPDATED!**

Thanks to Film Forager for pointing this one out.

I declare this one a must-see.  Some dude named Joe Nicolosi apparently asked an air-headed friend (girlfriend, maybe) Amanda to explain the original “Star Wars” trilogy even though she has NEVER SEEN any of the films.  Correction:  She’s seen bits and pieces and knows the characters’ names, but Joe tapes the entire explanation and adds animation for comedic effect.

The result:  A hilarious work of genius.

It’s also very sad to know that younger generations haven’t been exposed to “Star Wars” like we have, a fact very evident to me when I taught high school English a few years ago.  Here’s hoping that cinematic love letters to “Star Wars,” like the up and coming film “‘77” does, gets younger folks interested in what the original “Star Wars” films have to offer.

Here’s the video.  Behold “Star Wars: From Bits and Pieces”.  Funny, I don’t remember a “Bar Planet” being in the movie…

Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn’t seen it) from Joe Nicolosi on Vimeo.

**UPDATE**

NEW DEVELOPMENT!!! Amanda, the “Star Wars Chick” has officially been schooled by this little girl…

Its cute and all. But I was born in 75 so I saw Star Wars when it came out. My parents were born in 47 and when they were little kids The Day The Earth Stood still was the huge sci-fi pic. And I can’t explain the plot of that. Why does a teenager young enough to be my daughter need to know all about a 30 year old overrated space opera?

Dude, dude, dude…besides the general OMG!…she f’d up some Empire & Jedi continuity! But it was hilarious, especially with the animation (I think that made it for me!). And I’ve seen the 3 year old before…I LOVE HER!!!
