9! Scary/Cool clip from Shane Acker’s animated film! by DARK SIDE

I’m eagerly awaiting this one. The animation looks fantastic and the post-apocalyptic story seems original and mysterious. From what I can tell from the trailer and clips, it takes place in a world where humans are long gone. Robotic rag-dolls with numbers instead of names have emerged to fight and defeat the evil machine creatures that have taken over the planet. Created by humans, these dolls hold the key to… something. Like I said, it’s pretty vague, but I can’t wait to find out.

With some great vocal talent behind it (Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly), I’m expecting it to impress.

AND, here is the 10-minute short film it was based off of (also by Acker). It’s beautiful, haunting and I can’t tell if it gives any spoilers away or not, but it’s definitely worth seeing…
