Jackie Earle Haley IS Freddy Krueger!!! It is written… by DARK SIDE

Word coming down from my H’wood sources says Jackie Earle Haley’s a lock as Freddy Krueger in the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” remake. He scared me and thrilled the world as Rorschach in “Watchmen” so why not. The guy needs a slam-dunk commercial break in order to make his resurgence official. Here are the facts:

1. We know he can play a bonafide pedophile (ex- his “Little Children” Oscar nomination in 2007).
2. He played an awesome psycho as Rorschach in “Watchmen.” In fact, he surpassed every fanboy and general audience expectation to become the greatest thing in the film.
3. He creeps us all out with he performances as a souless entity (maybe with a HINT of soul, but just enough of soul… not the ’soul brother’ soul, but the ‘guy that never had a soul gets a soul’ kinda soul).

Whatever, if Robert Englund can’t be Freddy, why not Haley. If he can pull off Rorschach without a hitch, he’s got a leg up. Let’s see what the freak can do. May the original “Bad News Bears” live forever.

Speaking of pedophiles… let’s remake “Jeepers Creepers.” (if you don’t get that joke, research the writher/director Victor Salva)
