WATCHMEN!!! Update… Dr. Manhattan origin revealed on a retro newscast!!! by COOP (PLUS… The Small Town Critic needs YOUR HELP!!!)

Okay, so I got this up a few days late, but gimme a break. It’s been a historic week… for THE SMALL TOWN CRITIC (thought I was gonna say something about Obama, right?). The hits to this site are escalating fast… faster each day, prompting me to increase the regularity of articles and reviews. I’ve had some help from friends, but seriously… Me and Darkside have been kicking ass and taking names, by ourselves, for the past few months.

I need help so I’m recruiting various friends and family (and strangers, if you’ve got a pair) to shoot me various reviews, fringe news items (horror, sci-fi and other genre films most welcome) to me for online publication. Consider this a preliminary message before I officially put the word out… which I hope will be within the next month. I plan to go mainstream ASAP, so I will consider those who frequent this site the most, and who have superior writing skills… possibly better than mine, to write for the site. Who knows, those of us who persevere might start a franchise that could gain us at least money… if not, a lifelong career.

To cement this goal, our fellow poster, “The Dark Side Critic” has agreed to this arrangement. Here’s his statement:

Now, what you’re here for… Many of us have been waiting for WATCHMEN for a very long time. Thank the makers that Warner Bros. and Fox have entered some sort of “top secret” settlement (*cough* Fox got paid a lot of lawyer money *cough*) to make sure the movie opened on time. To reward us for our tireless patience in this matter… even though we shoulda seen this movie in fall of 2008, when they originally announced the release… the WB has put together a little alternate reality news footage to put us in the mood. Take a gander and marvel at what Dr. Manhattan will mean to you when you hit the theaters on March 6th…
