COOP wants to fight BRONSON

Here’s a wacky British import that flew below my radar until now.

It follows the saga of a British lowlife who grows a mustache, changes his name to Charles Bronson, then goes on a violent rampage in order to make a name for himself, eventually ending up in prison. Sounds like a more depressing version of “Chopper,” except the trailer gives the film a darkly comedic tone. It stars Tom Hardy, the guy who played the Picard-clone, Shinzon in “Star Trek: Nemesis.” Bet you thought you’d never see that dude again.

Like “Chopper,” apparently this Charles Bronson guy is a real dude, one of the most violent and notorious prisoners in England today. Hardy even visited him in prison to research the part (article here). If Eric Bana can win awards for “Chopper,” Hardy may be vying for the same type of recognition with “Bronson.” Whatever the case it looks like a hoot. I’m gonna be all over this one like white on rice.
